The story of the project is that my girlfriend said my Nerf basketball hoop was too childish. So I set out to design something that looked less like a kid's game and more like something you would see in a modern apartment.

I set out to use more premium materials - leather and steel - to give the hoop that feeling of sophistication while retaining a playful vibe. My apartment was too small to prototype in, so I made everything outside and out of the clothes hangers that I had!

The interesting thing is that I found the street details and city infrastructure helped inspire the final form.

I wanted to add a way to keep score (the twist-able cylinder on the bottom) because my friends and I always argue about it!
